Three Worlds
Starting with the Summer Game Trailer for Rebirth, a lot of people have been theorizing about multiple timelines and different worlds. But Creative Director Nomura has confirmed on the official Final Fantasy VII that there are three worlds in Rebirth.
Nomura explains that the game's cover art represents those three worlds. These worlds formed the axis of the Rebirth's story. Sephiroth being in the center of Cloud and Zack represents the villain's role as "the instigator of past events."

Cloud and Zack being on the sides of the cover art represents "their destinies being torn apart by Sephiroth." Finally, the image of blood, fire, and red draws Sephiroth staining the sky and spreading it across the world. The shade of red in the game's logo was inspired by the same imagery in the cover art.
My Reaction
I knew it! I freaking knew it! I had a theory that there were multiple worlds in FF VII Rebirth. And Nomura's confirmation makes my theory true.
However, there is another version of the cover art that replaces Cloud and Zack. Taking the two Soldiers' places are Tifa and Aerith respectively. Could Sephiroth instigating a rift between Tifa and Aerith too?

Sephiroth is already causing a divide between Cloud and Tifa. Planting seeds of doubt in these two childhood friends. After all, Tifa is instrumental to Cloud's mental well-being. I wouldn't be surprised either if Sephiroth tries to drive Zack and Aerith apart?
One thing is for certain. Sephiroth is causing discord and destruction. Unfortunately, he is just getting started. The damage could be far worse in Rebirth.
