Legend of Zelda Is Getting A Live Action Film

The latest video game to get a live action adaptation.

Link and Zelda are heading to the big screen. Nintendo announced that a live action film is development. The film is being produced Avi Arad along with Shigeru Miyamoto acting as Nintendo representative director. Wes Ball is directing the film.

Sony and Nintendo are co-financing the adaption. Nintendo is financing over half of the film. Sony Pictures will be distributing the film worldwide.

Miyamoto confirmed everything in tweet:

“This is Miyamoto. I have been working on the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda for many years now with Avi Arad-san, who has produced many mega hit films,” Miyamoto said in a tweet. “I have asked Avi-san to produce this film with me, and we have now officially started the development of the film with Nintendo itself heavily involved in the production. It will take time until its completion, but I hope you look forward to seeing it.”

It's interesting that Sony is involved with the distribution of the film. And they are co-financing the film too. But I feel ensure that the film will be excellent. With Miyamoto, Arad, and Wes Ball working on the film. The Zelda live action film is in capable hands.
