A lot of new features and details about gameplay and content.

The Grassslands and Mini Games
Square Enix showed over thirty minutes of gameplay footage of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The footage featured Grasslands. Grasslands is home to a multitude of side content, mini games and some returning elements from the original Final Fantasy.
These returning elements were the chocobo ranch, Mog’s house, and the piano game.
You can now customize the appearance of your chocobos with different outfits. Mog’s house is acts as a hub for its own mini games. I have no doubts that the original story of Mog’s house is presented in Rebirth. And that story has been enhanced and expanded upon.
The piano mini game from the original is now a rhythm game. It should note that the piano game is not presented in the grasslands. A new mini game called Queen’s Blood was introduced in the footage. The new card game also has its own unique story. Queen’s Blood gives me fond vibes of Triple Triad.
Hamaguchi goes into more detailed about Grasslands. The Grasslands is the first setting of Rebirth. And the setting will have a lot of content in this area. Also, Grasslands is a vast area measured around two kilometers.
World Intel
Renmawave Towers
Chadley returns with a new mission for Cloud. The former Shinra R&D needs Cloud's assistance with restoring the Renmawave Towers. Renmawave towers are communication towers once used by the old republic. The towers became dormant once Shinra took over.
Restoring towers will unlock new research assignments. In addition, these restored towers will give you a chance to gather your bearings. While providing a good look of the surrounding area.

Combat Assignments
Chadley will also provide with new combat missions. In these missions, you have find rare fiends in the natural environments. The main objectives is to fight these rare monsters for gathering intel. Combat missions also come with a set of challenges too.
Excavation Sites
Chocobos have the ability to use scent. Using scents allow Chocobos to sniff excavation sites throughout the map. Once discovered you use your chocobos dig up the excavation for items or crafting materials.

Item Transmutation
Item transmutation is a new feature in FFVII: Rebirth. Players can now take crafting materials and fused into to new items. Transmuting items yields experience. Increasing your transmutation levels allows you creates rare items.

Chocobo Stops and Fast Travels
Cloud and the party will encounter small chocobos in the wild. Following these tiny chocobos will lead the party to Chocobo stops. Unlocking these stops involves lifting a fallen post.

Once unlocked, the party will be able to rest at the stop. Although, they will have to use cushions since the benches are beat up and dirty. More importantly, fast travel will become available. Allowing you to fast travel to other unlocked chocobo stops.
Odd Jobs
Just like Remake, odd jobs will return in Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth. Cloud will continue his work as a mercenary. To find these odd jobs, check out notice boards in cities and major outposts.
Limit Breaks
Limit breaks make their return in Rebirth. A character's limit break gauge is filled as they take damage or stagger enemies. Once filled, a character can unleash their most powerful attacks or abilities. In Rebirth, a character's limit level can increase by some synergy abilities.
Synergy Abilities
Synergy abilities will be coming back too. These abilities were first introduced in Intergrade as you could control Yuffie and execute synergy abilities with Sonon. Two characters can team up for these powerful attacks.
Each synergy ability can be used without ATB. These abilities can also be executed by blocking. Synergy abilities aren't just attacks either. There are some that add support. Lastly, synergy abilities have a wide range of benefits too.
Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth launches February 29th. And that is less than five months from now. And the media and hype trains don't seem to be stopping any time soon.
